Circle Cupcake Tri-folds Birthday Cards
I been making some cards offline but never got the chance to enter challenges or post them on my blog. Thus, today, I am determine to make some cards and post them to enter into some challenges.

I am making some birthday cards as my company likes to have birthday celebration and I bet it is nice to give out some handmade birthday cards.

CAS(E) This Sketch #364
For this card, I am adopting the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #364 as shown above. I made two (2) cards where another card, I rotate it 180 degrees.

I die cut some stitched circles in yellow, blue and green cardstocks. I used digital stamp cupcakes and die cut the cupcakes into circle. Then, they are colored using Copic markers before adhere onto a yellow stitched circles.

I wanted to make a tri-folds cards so that the circles will be hanging on the card edge. After folded the card bases, the sentiment is stamped onto the card base as shown in the sketch. The circles are then adhere onto the card bases as in sketch.

For final touches, some shimmers are added to the cupcakes cream and the candle. A red gem are added to cherry to give some dimensions.

Puppy Happy for You But Sad to See You Go

Puppy Happy for You But Sad to See You Go
Made these cards for my daughter Standard Three (she is now in Standard Five) teacher who is retiring. I made two (2) cards with different images but my daughter get to choose one only. The other card will go into my cards stash and making two (2) cards at once really save a lot of my time.
Puppy Happy for You But Sad to See You Go card #1
I decided to use digital images as I am making a mini card of 3x3 inches size where it would be inserted into a gift box and I do not have much stamp images that small. Once the digital images are printed, they are colored using Copic markers. Then, they are die cut using circle dies and layered onto yellow dollies using dimension tape.

Close-up: Speech bubble sentiment
As for the sentiment, speech bubbles are stamped on green card stock follow by the sentiment into the speech bubbles. They are trimmed by scissor later as I do not have the matching dies.

Close-up: Puppy image on card #1
On the diagonal angle of dark purple cards base, a strip of washi tape with colorful splashes is layer onto it and the excess is trimmed. Then, the yellow dollies with stamp image is attached onto the bottom left card base using dimension tape. The speech bubble sentiment is attached on the right upper using dimension tape as well which mimic the dog speaking.

Splash Thanks

Splash Thanks
Made this card for one of my returning Copic markers buyers.

For this card, I play with Less is More - Week 215 - One Layer Week - Include An Animal only as one layer card is really my biggest challenge. I do not know why I always have issue making one layer card. Thus, this time would be a great challenge for me to tackle and I am glad that I manage to make this card! :P

Close-up: The hippopotamus
It is a clean and simple (CAS) card. First, I draw a frame on a white card base using pencil. Then, the hippopotamus image is stamped onto the card base with its legs a bit off the frame line. The hippopotamus is then colored using Copic markers.

Close-up: The punny sentiment
As for the sentiment, I wanted a punny and funny sentiment. Thus, I made up 'Splash Thanks'. Then, the splash of water is stamped on the left and right of the sentiment to give some realistic of water splashing looks.

Finally, a permanent lines are drawn for the frame.

Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"
Type : Hotizontal fold

I Was Featured in The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) Creation Blvd Showcase

I used to subscribe or follow The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) blog via e-mail. I was surprised when my Happy Happy Birthday! card is seen on their Creation Blvd Showcase post!

The card that featured in Creation Blvd Showcase, Happy Happy Birthday!
I still could not believe it and navigate to their blog just to make sure and voila! There is my Happy Happy Birthday! card lined up on the fourth! I am stunned by this feature as it is not easy to get picked and featured in Creation Blvd Showcase since there are many people submitting their cards. Furthermore, TAWS did not really specify when they will pick their favourite.

I did not expect to get picked as I am using one of the TAWS freebies to make this birthday card for my youngest auntie (mother's side). Thanks TAWS for liking my card!

Although this feature or pick do not won me anything, I am so happy and glad as it is not easy to get picked and featured in Creation Blvd Showcase! Thanks again, TAWS! I will keep showcasing some TAWS love!

Carnival Birthday!

Carnival Birthday!
I was really inspired by Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Carnival Craze as shown below. Thus, I wanted to make a birthday themed carnival card. Since I do not have much carnival stamp, except the digital freebie stamp from The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS), I stretch most of my stash for this card! :P
Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Carnival Craze

Bearly Mine Challenge #100 - Monthly Sketch
I adopt a bit complicated sketch this time from Bearly Mine Challenge #100 - Monthly Sketch as shown above as I would like to incorporate as much 'carnival' items into my card. I turned the sketch in 180 degree to suit my self-made embellishment as explained below.

Close-up : Stamped background panels
For the three (3) background panels, three (3) yellow card stock are trimmed accordingly. Then, the balloon are stamped repeatedly onto the background panels using yellow ink - tone-on-tone technique. I choose balloons as balloons always appear in carnival! The background panels are attached onto a green card base as in sketch.

Close-up : Banners
Well, banners also appear in carnival and I do not feel the atmosphere of carnival if there are no banners hanging above my head! Thus, I made a banner cord with colorful banners on it! It is attached to the center of the background panels as in sketch.

Close-up : Carnival tent
There would not be carnival without the carnival tent! Here, I use the free circus tent from The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS). I colored the tent using bright and cheerful colors of red, yellow and blue of my Copic markers. In fact, this card colors combination are based almost on these three (3) colors. I distress the edge of the circle with blue on the upper part and brown on the lower part to mimic the sky and ground. It is attached onto the card using pop-dots.

Close-up : Balloons as embellishment
Two (2) bigger balloons are stamped on white card stock and colored using Copic markers. They are trimmed accordingly before attached onto the upper right of the card as in sketch using pop-dots. Some yellow-white twine are used for the balloons' string. This is the self-made embellishment informed earlier.

Close-up : Sentiment
Lastly, is the sentiment. It is stamped on an orange card stock and trimmed rectangular. I choose a brighter and sharping color background for the sentiment as I want it to stand out from the card. It is attached onto the card upper left using pop-dots.

Happy Happy Birthday!

Happy Happy Birthday!
Made this birthday card for my youngest auntie (mother's side) whose birthday is on this Thursday.

Edit to add:

Seems A Little Sketchy - Challenge 45
I plan to enter 10 Minute Craft Dash #23 - Birthday Theme challenge. Thus, I adopt the sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy - Challenge 45 as shown above as a simpler sketch might helps!

To make a card in 10 minutes or less is very challenging to me as I usually takes my own sweet time to make a card. But I like to challenge myself sometimes. It took me some times to decide and prepare my supplies as the rules says that I can pull out the supplies before the timer starts. Thus, I prepare my card base, pattern papers and card stock into required sizes and even pull out the Copic markers colors I want to use! I feel a bit of cheating but after a short consideration, I find it good to go ahead as the rules did not mention cannot do like what I did.

Close-up : Digital cupcake
I use a digital stamp so that it helps a bit on time saving. Then, I start my timer and quickly color the cupcake with the Copic markers colors I pulled out earlier. I wasted a bit of time thought in searching one or two extra colors.

Close-up : Pattern paper and punched border
Right after that, I quickly work on assembling the card with the pre-cut pattern paper and the pre-punched red border strip as well as the fishtailed banner. I took some time to do a little measurement and some extra trimming.

Close-up : Sentiment
By 6 minutes plus, I realized that I did not get my sentiment ready! I waste a chunk of time looking for the stamp set and sentiment! Aaaarrrggghhhh!

Close-up : Fishtail banner with red gems
By the time I finish attached the three (3) red gems onto the fishtail banner, my timer show that it is 10 minutes and 7 seconds! Phew~! That is close and lessons learnt! Double check the supplies twice before start! I

I am glad that I completed the mission (with extra 7 seconds) and the card turned out nice! :P

Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"
Type : Vertical fold
