Flower and Bee Wishing You the Best Birthday Ever!

Flower and Bee Wishing You the Best Birthday Ever!
Made this card for a colleague whose birthday was on last Wednesday. I did not put a 'belated birthday' sentiment onto the card because I had wished her on Facebook and verbally on the same day. I promised her to give a birthday card on Monday. Thus, here I am with the card! :P

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 247
For this card, I adopt MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 247 as shown above.

The grass, flower and bee are stamped on a white card stock and colored using Copic markers. Then a white polka dots on pink background pattern paper is trimmed to make a frame for the scene as shown in the sketch.

Close-up: Sentiment and border
The sentiment is stamped on a yellow strip and attached onto a yellow strip with punched border design. It is later attached onto the scene as shown in the sketch. The scene is attached onto a pink card base using a big piece of foam so that it have some dimension.

Close-up: Flower and bee
The card is finished by adding some white pearls to the pollen of the flower to give some dimension. Two (2) smaller purple gems are also add to the bee's antennas. Lastly, I apply some glitter onto the bee's wings to make it sparkle.

Just Wanted to Say Thank You for a Great Year

Just Wanted to Say Thank You for a Great Year
Made this card for my son's kindergarten class principal teacher who is resigning to venture into her own nursery and childcare center nearby area. She very understanding and easy-going kind of person. I think it would be a loss to my son that she is leaving as he loves her so much.

Viva la Verve Sketches - September Week 4 Sketch
For this card, I adopt the sketch from Viva la Verve Sketches - September Week 4 Sketch as shown above.

Close-up: The whiteboard with message/sentiment
Instead of chalkboard, I decided to make a whiteboard instead so that I can make the 'Thank You' words to be the focus by applying color and glitter onto it. The whiteboard frame is colored using Copic markers and I purposely make some dirty marks on the corners of the whiteboard as used to see in real life. The duster/eraser is also colored with Copic markers. It is then trimmed and attached onto a silvery card stock where the bottom has been punched using border puncher.

Close-up: Yellow round tab with eyelets
On right top corner of the silvery card stock, a yellow round tab is secured to it. Two (2) round red quicklets are used on the round tab. Then, the silvery card stock is attached onto a green card base.

Close-up: "Thank You' sentiment in glitter
The card is finished by adding some glitter onto the words "Thank You".

Dimension : 10.1cm x 11.4cm or 4" x 4.5"
Type : Horizontal fold

Hanging Lanterns Mid-Autumn Festival

Hanging Lanterns Mid-Autumn Festival
I made this second mini card for my vertical/direct manager where I will include it with the mooncake.

Again, I decided to use digital stamp which I come across few years back on Chinese New Year Blog Hop. It is Deasy Designs Year of Snake set which still available as freebie on their blog. I use the lantern image only to create a hanging lanterns scene. Then, I stamp the branch over the lanterns to mimic as it is hanging from it. At the right bottom, I stamp the sentiment.

Close-up: The shimmer from clear glitter Wink of Stella
This time, I color the lanterns using Copic markers and use clear glitter Wink of Stella shimmer to mimic the light from inside the lanterns. The branch is colored using Copic markers as well.

The lanterns is attached on top of a green and pink gingham pattern paper which attached onto a pink card base. I choose pink card base because this card is for a female manager.

Dimension : 7.62cm x 7.62cm or 3" x 3"
Type : Horizontal fold

Circle Lanterns Mid-Autumn Festival

Circle Lanterns Mid-Autumn Festival
Mid-Autumn Festival is coming and I made this mini card for my horizontal manager where I will include it with the mooncake.

Since I do not have much lanterns related stamp sets, I decided to use digital stamp which I come across few years back on Chinese New Year Blog Hop. It is Avery Elle lanterns which available as freebie now on their challenge blog. The Avery Elle lanterns is perfect for the mid-autumn festival although it actually meant for Chinese New Year.

Close-up: The shimmer from clear glitter Wink of Stella
I color the lanterns in watercolor pencil colors and used the clear glitter Wink of Stella to create the watercolor effect. The shimmer from Wink of Stella is just perfect mimicking the light from inside the lanterns. I tried to use Copic markers to color the lanterns but the effect is not as good as watercolor pencil colors. By the way, I am using my daughter's watercolor pencil colors! :P

The lanterns is attached on top of a white polka dots with green background pattern paper which attached onto a blue card base. I choose blue card base because this card is for a male manager.

Dimension : 7.62cm x 7.62cm or 3" x 3"
Type : Horizontal fold
Inlay : None
