Birthday Wishes Card with Tag

Birthday wishes card with tag - Front
Made this birthday card for a female friend. Thus, most of the materials used are based on various hues and shades of pink.

Friday Sketchers Sketch #124
This card is inspirational from Friday Sketchers Sketch #124 sketch/challenge as shown above which sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. However, instead of oval, I modified into rectangular image as it is easier to incorporate the tag.

Close-up : Cupcake
A rectangular pocket is made using light purple with rose embossed card stock. Then, a red card stock is matted on top of it. Cupcake from Hero Arts CG151 Happy Birthday Cupcakes is stamped on the white card stock. The bottom of the cupcake and its confetti is colored using marker while the top of the cupcake is colored using water color pencil and blended with Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil. Some heart shaped gems and embellishment are added to the cupcake.

Close-up : Corrugated strips
Two (2) strips of corrugated card of light and dark pink are attached onto a pink card stock. Then the rectangular pocket is attached on top of the corrugated strips. The whole card is matted onto a folded light yellow card.

Tag pull-out - Pink side
A tag is made using two different colors on each side. Happy Birthday balloon from Hero Arts CL382 Wonderful Birthday is stamp on a yellow card stock and trimmed. It is attached on the pink side of the tag using pop dots. An orange string is added to the balloon as embellishment.

Tag pull-out - Orange side
Birthday message of "Hope your birthday is simply wonderful" from Hero Arts CL382 Wonderful Birthday is stamp onto the orange side of the tag. Some ribbon string of pink and red is used to tie on top of the tag.
Close-up : Orange side with birthday message

The tag is inserted into the rectangular pocket with orange side facing outside. Thus, when the receiver pull out the tag, she will be surprised with the message. The tag can be used as bookmark as well.

Beezy Thank You Card

Beezy Thank You card - Front
This is my first attempt to make a four (4) side-folded card. It is a thank you card I make for my company's inter departments competition with theme "Thank You". Since I have few new stamp sets, I decided to use them.

One of the competition rules is that the card size should not be smaller than A4. Thus, I used the A4 size aqua card stock and trimmed into 5" x 4.3" (after four side-folded) card.

ICSketches #87
The design on the front card are inspirational from Inspirational Card Sketches (ICS) #87 sketch/challenge as shown above.

Close-up : Heart flowers
Heart flowers stamp (unnamed brand bought from local bookstore) are stamped using red ink onto a white card stock. Green paper that trimmed with 'volcano' style at one end is attached to the bottom of the heart flowers which looks like grass.

Close-up : Bees flying in different directions
Bee from Hero Arts CL413 Bugs and Kisses is stamped above the heart flowers in few direction to give some effect that the bees are flying. Bee at the middle and left are paper-pieced while the left bee is stamped on the white card stock and colored using yellow marker.

A mesh is attached onto a purple card stock. Then, a flower patterned paper is matted half onto of the mesh. Then the white card stock is attached on top of it.

Close-up : Thank You message
'Thank You' bubble from Hero Arts CL394 Message Bubbles is stamped on the blue card stock and trimmed accordingly. It is placed on the right upper corner of the white card stock using pop dot.

Top view of the four (4) openings
At the back, it is the four (4) side-folded opening. The front two (2) openings are square and overlap one another. While the internal two (2) openings are semi circles.

Another Elmer's Giveaway

Yes! Another Elmer's giveaway by Sammye at her blog. Please head over to her blog for the details of the giveaway.

Winning from a2z Scrapbooking Supplies

I was in a questioning moment when I hop over to a2z Scrapbooking Supplies blog to check on the winner. For your information, I seldom click on the update on the blogs I am following in the reading list on my blog dashboard. But yesterday was a weird act of mine that I clicked on it.

I did not aware on the winning as I completely forgotten about this entry as the organizer only requested us to become a follower and did not want us to spread the news. Thus, I did not put up a link on my blog sidebar to remind myself.

Thanks God that I am a follower and I accidentally click on the update which eventually got to know that I win, well, perhaps I win. Why? The organizer actually put my nickname as "Memory Keeper" instead of "Message Keeper". Thus, I e-mailed the organizer to check after I gone through the whole follower list.

Linda replied to me and informs that I am the winner. She apologizes on the typo error as she was typing while her daughter sat on her lap. Well, after getting the confirmation, I am so happy that I won something. I guess this is really my lucky winning as I totally forgotten about it and never thought I am the winner.

P/S : Guess I better discipline myself to take a peek at my reading list and click on the update to see if I won something for some entries that I been forgotten about!

Stampin' Up Rounded Tab Punch

Stampin' Up rounded tab punch - Side view
I bought Stampin' Up rounded tab punch online few months back in late June 2010. Since Stampin' Up do not ship to Malaysia, I had it shipped to my cousin's house in US as her mum, my aunt will be coming back to Malaysia afterward.

Stampin' Up rounded tab punch - Front view
Finally, I managed to get my Stampin' Up rounded tab punch today! When I first saw it, I am a bit shock as I never expected it to be such big.

Label with "Made in Taiwan"
The second thing that shock and in the same time disappointed me is that the label said it was "Made in Taiwan"! The punch is made in Taiwan and shipped back to US to be sell and Stampin' Up did not ship to Malaysia! What a weird thing!

EK Success logo under the punch lever
The third thing is that, apparently, the punch was designed or manufactured by EK Success for Stampin' Up I suppose as there is a logo of EK Success under the punch lever. But I do not find this punch in EK Success' product line! I guess Stampin' Up buy the license of this product from EK Success and prevented EK Success to manufacture or sell under its own product line.

Anyway, the punch is in my hand now and I cannot wait to use it as suggested by other crafter on their blog. Well, the first thing I would use it is to organize my ribbons and strings by using it as the spool.
