Additional Stamps!

I ordered Hero Arts CL413 Bugs and Kisses from Crafty Heart Online Store early September 2010. It was a special pre-order as this item was not offered in her store. But the owner, Debbie is kind enough to specially pre-order for me together with her pre-order batch #7.

In late September 2010, I ordered some other pre-order Hero Arts stamps - Hero Arts CL461 Wishes Come True and CL266 Mix and Match Elements and ready stock Studio G VC0022 Series 42 - Mother is the Heart of the Home since Debbie is offering up to 15% discount on all items including pre-order in conjunction of Malaysia Day. So, I grabbed this opportunity to pre-order some stamp sets which I missed during the pre-order batch #7 due to budget.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival Thank You Card (Sample)

Mid-Autumn Festival Thank You card - Front
This is another Mid-Autumn Festival card I created. I used the sentiment of "Thank You" instead of festival greeting as I would like to thank the recipient for his kind gesture of my work appraisal.

It is a very simple card whereby light blue card stock is used. Two (2) small hills are created using green card stock on top of the light blue card.

Close-up : Asian girl
The Asian girl in Hero Arts CL308 Arigato is stamped on a white card stock. Her face is colored and dissolved using Johnson & Johnson Baby Oil inspired by Heaney from PaperPapier. The result is amazing! The dress is colored using markers. In the middle of the pattern flower on the doll, some shimmering ink is added to make the doll outstanding.

Close-up : Lantern
Lantern from Hero Arts CL308 Arigato is stamped on the green hill. Then, trimmed blue lantern is attached onto the stamped lantern using pop dots. Shimmering ink is added to the flower of the lantern to make it like lit with candle inside.

Close-up : Altered toothpick
A trimmed end toothpick is attached to the Asian doll dress, aligning to hand position. Another end of the toothpick is align to the top of the lantern loop. Effect is added to the tooth and lantern by stitching a black thread to the lantern loop and toothpick which make it like hanging.

Close-up : Altered moon
The sun from Hero Arts CL439 Kiss from the Sun is used as the moon by omitting (trim off) the sun rays. It is attached to the left upper corner of the card.

Close-up : 'Thank You' message
On the right upper corner of the card, 'Thank You' bubble from Hero Arts CL394 Message Bubbles is stamped. The little hearts are colored in red.

Close-up : Randomly scattered gems
Some gems are randomly attached to the hills to make the effect of stars reflection. The whole card is then attached to a yellow folded card.

Theme : Mid-Autumn Festival and Lantern
Title : Thank You
Size : 10.8cm x 13.97cm or 4.25" x 5.5"

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival Mini Cards (Sample)

Mid-Autumn Festival mini cards
It is Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival today which celebrated by the Chinese community. It is a big festival in Chinese Lunar calendar. Thus, I made some mini cards to send the warm wishes to my fellow colleagues.

Close-up #1
It took me quite some time to finish these cards due to the various stamping images, trimming and coloring. But it is all worth the efforts I put in when my colleagues send me thank you and their appreciation messages. I really sincere wish them happy during this festival with their family and friends.

Close-up #2
A yellow base card is used as background. The following images are stamped on a white card and colored:
4) sentiment 'Celebrate' - CL272 All Occasion Messages

Close-up #3
Since it is fall/autumn season, I used branch and leaves on the card to mimic the season. The lantern and moon are to symbolize the Mid-Autumn or Mooncake Festival. The sentiment 'Celebrate' is perfect for this occasion as to urge people to celebrate this festival!

Close-up : Lantern in red
After the white card is attached onto the yellow card, trimmed lanterns in various colors are attached onto the stamped lantern using pop dots. What is Mooncake Festival if there is no moon in the card? Thus, the sun from Hero Arts CL439 Kiss from the Sun is used as the moon by omitting (trim off) the sun rays. It is attached to the left upper corner of the card overlapping the white card.

Close-up : Lantern in blue
Additional texture is added to the card whereby I stitch the lantern circle loop with black thread to the branch which give an effect that the lantern is hanging from the branch.
Close-up : Lantern in yellow
Close-up : Lantern in pink
Close-up : Lantern in shimmering pink
Close-up : Lantern in green
Close-up : Lantern in darker blue

Theme : Mid-Autumn Festival, Lantern and Tree/Leaves
Title : Celebrate
Size : 7.62cm x 7.62cm or 3" x 3"

Wedding Wishes Card #4 (Sample)

Wedding Wishes card #4 - Front
A red card is used as base which has been trimmed rectangularly. A red rectangular corrugated card is matted on top of the red card.

Close-up : Gold 'double happiness' ruffled ribbon
On top of the red corrugated card, a gold ribbon with printed 'double happiness' in Chinese character, '喜' is used. It is being ruffled into pattern on top of the corrugated card. This is the first time I made ruffled ribbon.

Close-up : Chinese groom on the left side
Chinese couple wearing traditional wedding costume from a wrapping paper are trimmed accordingly. The Chinese groom is placed on the left side while the Chinese bride is placed on the right side.
Close-up : Chinese bride on the right side

Close-up : Red rose ribbon
A red ribbon with gold finishing is used to tie the couple together as in old-fashioned Chinese traditional wedding style. The middle of the ribbon is the rose I made previously. The red ribbon is being ruffled a little to suit the length and position of the couple.

On the middle of the card, on top of the red ribbon rose, sentiment of "So Happy For You" is stamped on a red card. Four (4) corners has been rounded and attached to the card.

Title : So Happy For You

I Made It!

I am trying to make a rose using ribbon for one of my card. I been searching all over the Internet and finally found the guidance in photos by Carolivy in her blog.

I followed the guided instructions but did not turn out well. I try for the second time and finally I made it.

Ribbon rose
Although it is not so nice but I believe practice made perfect. I just need to try another time and perhaps use wider width of ribbon.
