Flower and Butterfly Thanks

Flower and Butterfly Thanks
Making last minutes card for some of my colleagues in conjunction of tomorrow Administrative Professionals' Day.

Lawnscaping Challenge 104
This week, Lawnscaping Challenge 104 is on sketch! Yay! I always get inspired by sketch and I actually love playing with Lawnscaping Challenge too but just time is not so conveniently for me to play along. As time is crucial here, Lawnscaping Challenge 104 sketch is just perfect to save me! I rotated the sketch 180 degree clockwise so that I can accommodate the butterfly as in the sketch.

I started by stamping the flower and butterfly onto white stock and colored them using Copic markers. Then, they are trimmed accordingly which reminds me I could use the Lawn Cuts Flutter By that release last December 2014 for rush time like this!

On a pink card base, some pastel polka dots pattern papers that has been trimmed according to sizes as in the sketch are attached. Before attaching the flower on to the card base, partial of the butterfly is stamped onto the flower. Then, the flower is attached on the card base. The butterfly is attached onto the flower using foam tapes so there is dimension.

Finally, the sentiment is stamped onto the right bottom rectangular polka dots pattern paper.

Dimension : 11.43cm x 8.89cm or 4.5" x 3.5"

Lawn Fawn Retired Stamp Set - Lunar Lights

Lawn Fawn Lunar Lights
On 23 March 2015, I received a shocking and surprised newsletter from Lawn Fawn saying that they will retire some of their older clear stamp sets to make room for their growing collection. It is sad to get these kind of information but unavoidable. There are total of seventeen (17) stamp sets that are going to be retired and Lawn Fawn is offering 25% discount on these stamp sets on their online shop.

Sample of retiring Lawn Fawn stamp sets
One of the retire stamp set, Lunar Lights has been on my wishlist for quite sometime now. However, whenever I has a chance to purchase some stamp sets or crafty stuffs, I make priority for the stamp sets or stuffs I want to use. Thus, the Lunar Lights stamp set get lesser priority. But not now after getting Lawn Fawn retire stamp sets newsletter.

Although Lawn Fawn is offering 25% discount on these stamp sets on their online shop, I still search around other online craft stores if there is any cheaper. If I order from Lawn Fawn online shop, I need to pay total of USD$24.75 (stamp set after discount at USD$11.25 plus shipping USD$13.50). However during these times, there are less promotion or sales around which makes it harder for me to get a good bargain price.

After few days of searching, finally my efforts paid off when I come across scrappincowgirl eBay shop. Although the stamp set price is at USD$12.50, the shipping is charged at USD$7.66 which makes the total of USD$20.16. This is the lowest price I come across. Without further ado, I ordered the item straight away and make the payment on the 31 March 2015.

And today, the item arrived as my birthday present! Yes, today is my birthday and this can be considered a self gift. :P I hope i can use the stamp set in making next year Lunar Chinese New Year cards. Crossing my fingers.

Since I do not have much flower related stamp sets, this freebies really caught my eyes and heart. The sentiments in this set are wonderful as well and great for many occasions! The embossing folder is a bonus as it is a border embossing folder which I do not have such in my collection currently.

Bye Bye Rose

Bye Bye Rose
Made this card for one of my colleague who is resigning whereby her last day is on 10 April 2015.

Sketch Saturday Week #355
I adopt the simple sketch from Sketch Saturday Week #355 as shown above for a simple card. I also got my inspiration from Just Add Ink #257 - Inspiration Photo as shown below. I try to use the colors and texture in the photo.
Just Add Ink #257 - Inspiration Photo

As the inspiration photo is all about flowers, I decided to make my signature 3D rose again. On a white card stock, three (3) roses are stamped and colored using Copic markers. Then, the colored roses are trimmed. Three (3) roses are layered upon each to create some dimension using foam tape. Two (2) leaves are attached to a yellow mini doily die cut follow by the 3D rose.
Close-up: 3D rose
On a light pink card base, punched orange border is attached as in sketch. On top of the border strip, a white polka with yellow base 'masking stickers' is attached to it. Then, the 3D rose is secured onto it.

Close-up: Sentiment
The sentiment is stamped on the right bottom corner. Two (2) white pearls are attached to the beginning and ending of the sentiment as finishing touch.

Please note that the colors in this card may not appear exactly as in real life due to variation between camera resolution and lights.

Dimension : 10.16cm x 8.89cm or 4" x 3.5"
Type : Horizontal fold
