Hero Arts CL391 Monster Fun Added to Stamp Collection

I been spending some amount of money recently in purchasing some tools and I know I need to stop for a while to replenish my bank amount. However, my husband has been encouraging me to purchase more and he even allowed (and kind of sponsor) me to purchase some crafting supplies once a month! Thanks dearest hubby!

Well, here I go today to Scrapbook Memories to purchase some stamps since previously when I purchase my Cuttlebug there I spotted they are having clearance sale of 2010 Hero Arts at 40% discount. Upon entering the store, I am glad that the "40% discount on 2010 stamps" sign is still there. If I remember correctly, almost the same stocks are still there since my last visit here. Nevertheless, the stamps that I want are not in the clearance sale.

I been lingering around the clearance sale area for a while undecided which stamps to take home. Eventually, my hubby came in and ask me if I am ready to go. I says that I do not know which stamps to take. He then suggests me to take CL391 Monster Fun as he previously spotted that this stamp is very cute.

Hero Arts CL391 Monster Fun
Well, since I am undecided, I just took his advice to purchase CL391 Monster Fun. After all, he is sponsoring me. The best part is that I got 40% discount on the stamp which cost me about RM54, cheaper than I usually bought from Crafty Heart online store! Of course the clearance sale stamps are limited stocks and designs which I do not find any of my wishlist stamps there and depends on luck as well. Anyhow, any saving is good for me and more addition to my stamps collection!

Simply Birthday

Simply Birthday - Front
Made another card as my "crafting bugs" are bugging me to make more cards. I think it is due to months of me "hiding" them and now they been "unleashed" and urging me to make more cards. :P

Card Patterns Sketch 129
This card layout is inspirational from Card Patterns Sketch 129 sketch/challenge as shown above. I decided to make a birthday card again as I would like to enter another entry into Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Foods and Drinks. Coincidentally, I saw another challenge, Craft Your Days Away (CYDA) Challenge #27 that features cupcakes! How can I resist that since I particularly like cupcakes!

Close-up : Cupcake
I used cupcake from Hero Arts CG151 Happy Birthday Cupcakes to make this card. Colored it using Copic and added some gems.

Close-up : Message 'Happy'
Message of the card is of course not other than 'Happy Birthday'. I decided to use 'Happy Birthday' from Hero Arts CL382 Wonderful Birthday since the font is big enough to accommodate the space on the left and right of the orange strip. I purposely stamp the message diagonally to have a different look. Two (2) medium blue gems are then attached to the corner of each of the square.
Close-up : Message 'Birthday'

Theme : Cupcake
Title : Happy Birthday
Code : BW#009
Dimension : 12.7cm x 19.05cm or 5" x 7.5"

Christmas Birthday

Christmas Birthday - Front
This is my first card after months of stopping crafting due to some personal issue.

I got this card idea from Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Foods and Drinks and Craftyhazelnut's Challange #34 - Christmas Birthday. I would like to challenge myself in Charisma Cardz Challenge #33 - Negative Space as well. Thus, this card is made.

Close-up : Cupcake replacement of Christmas tree
Since it is Christmas birthday, I have a great idea of using Hero Arts CL461 Wishes Come True for this combined theme. I masked off the Christmas tree in the circle message and stamped the message with Christmas tree masked off on a light yellow card. I replace the Christmas tree with a cupcake from Hero Arts CL382 Wonderful Birthday. I purposely colored the cupcake base with red and green to give Christmas feel.

Christmas Birthday - Inside
Inside the card, I decided to put some message and decoration since the front of the card is too simple and blank. I stamp the party birdie from Hero Arts CL382 Wonderful Birthday on the inside of the card. I purposely colored the birdie hat with red and green again to give Christmas feel.

Close-up : Party birdie and "Happy Birthday" message
"Happy Birthday" message bubble from Hero Arts CL394 Message Bubbles is stamped on top of the birdie to make the remarkable message.

Theme : Christmas Birthday
Title : May All Your Wishes Come True This Holiday Season
Code : BW#008
Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"
Type : Horizontal fold
Inlay : None with stamped images
Price : RM4.50 (excluded shipping fees)

My Very First Copic Markers!

I wrote to Imagination International, Inc (CopicMarker.com), distributor of copic markers in USA and Canada in March 2011 to ask if they have any distributors in Malaysia. I did not put very high hope that they will reply my e-mail as most of the time I wrote to the general e-mail to ask for something, it ended up no reply from them.

Well, this time is a surprise for me as they did reply my e-mail. Guess what? The person who reply my e-mail is the General Manager - International Operations of Too Marker Products Inc, manufacturer in Japan! What a honorable surprise! He informs that there is distributor in Malaysia. I am so happy to know that and google about.

The distributor is actually a Singapore based company selling all kind of art supplies. There are a numbers of stores and branches in Singapore as well as other countries including Malaysia, Vietnam and China. Without wasting time, I quickly called to the store to check on the pricing of Copic markers.

Well, another great surprise for me as the price is incredibly cheap compare to the pricing I get from Crafty Heart online store or any online shops. I really cannot believe at first when the person tell me the price. I guess this is because this distributor is getting their Copic markers direct from Too Marker Products Inc, manufacturer in Japan (the Copic markers that I bought written that it is "Made in Japan") which saved a bunch on freight and custom charges. That means more saving for me! However, there is a drawn back to the cheap price as they do not sell retail. The price they mention is meant for wholesale which means I need to get some quantities before I qualified for the mention cheap price. But during that time, my budget is limited and I did not go to the store to browse.

Until today. The first impression when I walk into the shop is that it is very packed with all kind of craft and art supplies. I do not know where to start but my eyes spotted a rack of Copic markers! When I scan through the price, it is what I been told earlier! *Big smile on my face* But the price is meant for wholesale as mentioned before. :(

Copic Ciao 12 pieces basic set
After discussing with the staff on the qualification to get the cheap price and how to become their wholesale customer, I ended up buying a set of Copic Ciao 12 pieces basic set as I need to fork out some huge money (real huge) to become their wholesale customer. I did not choose to purchase Copic Sketch because of the pricing. Copic Ciao is cheaper compare to Copic Sketch and both of the quality is the same. Since I saved a bit on buying Copic Ciao, I decided to buy additional colors from Copic Ciao as well. I chosen B05, BG93, E53, Y17 and YR02. I also choose C6 from Copic Sketch as Copic Ciao do not have this color.
From top to bottom : Copic Sketch C6, Copic Ciao B05, BG93, E53, Y17 and YR02

Well, all I could says is that I am very happy now as I have my Cuttlebug and Copic markers. The next thing I need to do is to save up money and keep on collecting (purchasing) embossing folder and dies, more Copic colors and more stamps!

Not to mention that I am now selling Copic markers online for Malaysia Copic markers fans as well!

Note :
Pre-order for Copic markers are now open. Please refer here on how to order! Thanks!
