Biggest Parcel Ever Received!

Top view of the 'stove-sized' box of parcel
My husband called me when he goes to pick up our daughter from kindergarten. I am surprised as usually he would not call me during that time. He informs that he received the parcel notification that I have a parcel that needs to be pick up from post office. He adds that the postman said that he unable to deliver it to our house as the parcel is too big like a size of a stove!

Well, I am and did expecting a parcel from Oh My Crafts! which has been pending for a while. Just two (2) days ago, I written to them that I have not received my parcel. I been worrying that the parcel is lost but then, today, I am relieved after I receive the news from my husband. I am purchasing Martha Stewart Scoring Board which I know is big (12"x12") and three (3) Tim Holtz distress ink pads. I never expect that the parcel is so big like a size of a stove!

I ask my husband if he could go to the post office to pick up the parcel after he picks up our daughter from kindergarten. He says he will. Somehow, few minutes after that, the sky turned his emotion suddenly and heavy rain began to pour down. I quickly call my husband to cancel picking up the parcel but he did not answer and I predicted he is on his way to post office. I am so worry about him and our daughter on weather like this. Once they got back, my husband is all wet and my daughter is wearing raincoat (they are riding motorcycle). I apologize to them for the trouble and luckily my kind heart husband did not angry at me. ~phew~

Not my actual parcel but this is how it looks like when I open up my parcel.

Well, guess what! It is indeed a big parcel like a size of a stove and the biggest parcel I ever received! I did not believe it as the Martha Stewart Scoring Board is square sized but the parcel comes in rectangular size. It makes me wonder. When I open up the parcel, the scoring board only took about 60% of the parcel box. Oh My Crafts! protect it by putting some what is known as air cushions or air pillow, AIRplus® from Storopack on top of the Martha Stewart Scoring Board and the remaining 40% of the empty spaces in the box. The three (3) Tim Holtz distress ink pads are squeezed in between the AIRplus®.

Well, although the parcel arrived a bit late which worries me a lot earlier, I am relief that it arrived with everything intact and in good condition. It was late as the custom cleared it on 08 September 2012 which is on Saturday. Hopefully I am going to use them soon for my next project.

I Was Picked by Loves Rubberstamps Design Team

Like usual, I was hopping challenge blogs to check out what is the new theme they had for the week. In the same time, I am also checking if I am lucky enough to be selected as winner since I did not check few weeks back and not to mention the different time the challenges ended. :P I try to use the search function in Chrome (by pressing Ctrl and 'F' together to bring up the function) as some of the blogs are quite crowded with submission.

The card that get picked by Loves Rubberstamps Design Team, Flower Thanks So Much!

When I reach Loves Rubberstamps Challenge blog, I use the same method but I did not put up high hopes. I was surprised that the results came up with two (2) results (by default, the result is always one result if there is no same word from the page).

I quickly click on the arrow in the search field so that it brings me to the location the result. I am so stunned that I saw my card! Anxiously, I start to read the posting details. It is a "Design Team Favorite Picks" whereby the Loves Rubberstamps Design Team picks their favorite cards from the submission! It is a bonus chances apart from the normal winning voucher as Loves Rubberstamps is offering free shipping coupon on any size order from the Loves Rubberstamps store.

After making sure that I really eligible for the prize, I quickly e-mail to Loves Rubberstamps to claim my free shipping coupon if it is still valid as I been late to getting know that I get picked. The announcement was made on 20 August 2012 but I only get to know now like three (3) weeks behind.

Right after that as well, I emailed Loves Rubberstamps Design Team who picks me, Holly Flores. I thanks her for her pick and I told her that I never expected that I get picked! I also shares that I never realized that there are bonus chances of winning something by getting picked by Design Team members! Holly revert few days afterwards that she really likes my card and she hopes to see more of my fabulous creations in Loves Rubberstamps challenge. She even suggested me to go for a guest design team spot which last for a month! I thanks her for the compliment but declined the designer spot invitation due to my work commitment. I also shares that usually I made cards, it is for someone or occasions. I thanks her again for the recommendation. Again, I really cannot believe that I am good to be in a designer team.

Thanks to Loves Rubberstamps for the prize and Holly for the pick!

Whalely Thank You
Made this card for both Kim Loh and Noraiman Mohd Sabtu, who uses Copic markers in their arts.

Totally Papercrafts Challenge #132
This card layout is inspirational from Totally Papercrafts Challenge #132 sketch/challenge as shown above. Again, the sketch has inspired me to create a scene. I hope my scene still resemble the sketch.

The waves are created using some punched border strips in blue shades that layer upon each others on a yellow card base.

The whale is stamped on a pattern paper and trimmed accordingly. It is attached onto the layered waves and yellow card base. The water splash is stamped on top of the whale and a googly eye is attached to give a cute look.

The sentiment is stamped in a position as the whale is speaking it out. Those hearts in the bubble are colored using Copic marker.
