Graduation Celebration!

Graduation Celebration card
This is my first attempt to make a graduation card and it is for my cousin who is recently graduate from a local university. I did not attempt to make any graduation card before because I do not have the right stamp until I purchase Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You recently.

Lily Pad Cards' Hero Arts Sketch Challenge
This card layout is inspirational from Lily Pad Cards' Hero Arts Sketch Challenge sketch/challenge as shown above - simple and clean!

Close-up : Graduation hat
Three (3) different patterned paper strips are attached to a blue card according to the sketch. Then, the graduation hat is stamped on a white scallop circle and colored using Copic markers. I dimensional the graduation hat using pop dots.

Close-up : Sentiment "Let's Celebrate"
At the bottom of the card, sentiment "Let's Celebrate" is stamp and color using Copic markers. I used sentiment "Let's Celebrate" instead of "Happy Graduation" or "Congratulations" because it is an event to celebrate!

Theme : Graduation
Title : Let's Celebrate
Size : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"
Type : Vertical fold
Inlay : None

Birdie Thinking of You

Birdie Thinking of You - Front
Made this card to enter this month Hero Arts challenge. It has been months that I missed Hero Arts challenge and I decided to enter the challenge this month (in last minute, :P).

Birdie Thinking of You - Inside
We do not have autumn season here in Malaysia. Thus, everything autumn theme is out of question even though I can try to make some Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival cards but it has been passed. Color challenge is not very my type as well. Thus, I only have the last option to use in order to enter the challenge which is window cards. I really like window cards as it give us mystery and surprise sometimes. I could not search a sketch that can be used for window cards. Thus, I come up with my own simple sketch.

Close-up : Branch and sentiment
A light shaded blue cardstock is used as base for the sky. Then, branch with birds on it is stamped on the top of the card and colored using Copic markers. Sentiment of "Thinking of You" is stamped on top of the birds. Then, it is attached onto a yellow card.

Close-up : Punched hole
A hole is punch below the branch and a birdhouse is stamp inside the yellow card together with sentiment "Today, Tomorrow and Always" above it which makes the whole message of "Thinking of You Today, Tomorrow and Always". A string is attach on the front of the card just above the birdhouse. Colored birdhouse is attach on the stamped birdhouse dimensional.
Close-up : Inside the card with sentiment

Close-up : Ribbon that looks like grass and flowers
Green gems are added to the bubble message and birdhouse. The bottom of the card is decorated with some ribbon that looks like grass and flowers.

Theme : Bird Title : Thinking of You Today, Tomorrow and Always
Dimension : 12.7cm x 19.05cm or 5" x 7.5"
Type : Vertical fold
Inlay : None but with stamped image and sentiment

Baby Boy Announcement

Baby Boy Announcement with tag inserted - Front
This is one of the project I had in mind for a while but I could not make it until now due to my available time.

Inspirational Card Sketch (ICS) - ICSketch #132
I could not resist not to make this project when I saw the sketch of Inspirational Card Sketch (ICS) - ICSketch #132 sketch/challenge as shown above. Furthermore, this week Creative Card Crew challenge theme is babies! I just got an inspirational from these two (2) challenges and decided to make this project.

Baby Boy Announcement with pulled out tag
I decided to make a baby boy announcement card. Thus, the colors of the card are mostly blue based shades and hues. The Inspirational Card Sketch (ICS) - ICSketch #132 sketch/challenge layout has inspire me to make a pocket card so that an insert-able baby announcement detail tag can be insert into the pocket.

Close-up : Vellum as pocket with stamped baby feet
In order to make the pocket, I decided to use light blue vellum whereby I stamped the baby feet onto it randomly to make a patterned vellum.

Baby Boy Announcement Tag - Front
The baby announcement tag has two (2) parts - front and back. The front, scalloped white cardstock is stamped with a baby together with a bubble message "Hello". I purposely choose "Hello" instead of "It's a boy!" because I want the baby to say hello to the person who receive the baby announcement. The baby cloth is paper pieced with some patterned paper.
Close-up : The baby and message

Baby Boy Announcement Tag - Back
The back of the tag, scalloped white cardstock is stamped with the baby announcement details. Both of the scalloped white cardstocks are then attached onto a circle blue cardstock whereby it has been attached with a round tab to hang the silver string for easier pull out from the pocket.
Close-up : Baby announcement details

Close-up : "Baby Boy" sentiment
"Baby Boy" message is stamped on a blue circle cardstock and attach onto a scalloped pink cardstock. It is then attached onto the vellum as per sketch.

Theme : Baby and Blue
Title : Hello, Baby Boy
Code : BA#001
Card Dimension : 12.7cm x 12.7cm or 5" x 5"
Tag Dimension : 8.89cm x 8.89cm or 3.5" x 3.5"

Please e-mail to msgkeeper@gmail.com for order by quoting the card code above.

More Spellbinders Nestabilities and Lawn Fawn Stamp

Once I purchased my Cuttlebug, I asked Debbie from Crafty Heart how much she sells for Spellbinder Nestabilities as I would like to get another scallop circles dies. I do not want to purchase from Scrapbook Memories anymore as I know Debbie's price would be cheaper. Well, my guess is correct when Debbie replied me with the estimated price since I did not give her which actual dies I want.

Spellbinders Nestabilities S4-124 Classic Scallop Circle Large
Back : The actual dies
We exchanged some e-mails asking the actual dies I want but after few rounds of checking, finally, she informs that her supplies only have Spellbinders Nestabilities S4-124 Classic Scallop Circle Large. I settled for this since this dies is compatible to the earlier Spellbinder Nestabilities S4-116 Standard Circle Small that I bought.

I also asked if Debbie would re-list her Christmas stamps soon but she informs that most of her Christmas stamp has been sold out last year. However, she offered to look for me for the stamp I want which is Imaginisce Mittens. Well, luck is not on my side as her suppliers do not have this stamp anymore but she informs that she will post the new batch of Christmas stamps soon.

Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea
I ordered Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea from her store as well. After few days, I added my order to include Hero Arts CL245 Happy Winter Occasions when she acknowledges me that she posted her new batch of Christmas stamps.

Two (2) packs (five pairs each packs) of 8mm googly eyes
I order another order from her store when she announced that she will be moving back permanently to Kuching, Sarawak and having 20% discount on all items except pre-order. Well, who can resists 20% discount when normally Debbie only offer up to 15% discount. Thus, I ordered two (2) packs (five pairs each packs) of 8mm googly eyes since I bought my Hero Arts CL391 Monster Fun earlier.

This time, these items reached to me late as Debbie was moved back permanently to Kuching, Sarawak. I think she must have something bothering her as she mistaken used PosDaftar (registered post) instead of Poslaju to deliver the items to me which delayed few more days. I did not realize she used PosDaftar when she e-mailed me the tracking number but I do suspect something. When I received the parcel, then only I realized that she used PosDaftar which I e-mailed her that I paid the Poslaju shipping fees. She replied and apologize on the mistake done and promise that she will deduct the remaining of the Poslaju shipping fees in my next purchase.

I am going to start some projects soon as I have some deadlines on my mind before I stop crafting for maybe a quite some time.

My First Lawn Fawn Stamp!

I ordered from Lawn Fawn store directly in early September 2011 for Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You and Lawn Fawn basic blocks since Debbie from Crafty Heart could not source for me Lawn Fawn basic blocks.

Lawn Fawn basic blocks
Top : 1" x 7" ruler-top block
Left to right : 2" x 4" plain block, 1 1/4" plain square block and 2 1/2" round, grip-block with guidelines
I particularly likes Lawn Fawn basic blocks as it has one block of 2 1/2" round, grip-block with guidelines that Kelly Marie Alvarez, owner of Lawn Fawn used to use in her video. I find it very useful and easy to grip and has guidelines for guidance. Other than that, the package also contain one 1″ × 7″ ruler-top block which I know is useful for long sentiment or images like border (although I do not have any border stamp yet). Another blocks which I need most sometimes is this 2″ × 4″ plain block that can fit any big images. Currently I only have or been using Hero Arts CL074 Poly Clear Block 3" x 3" Square which sometimes do not fit some large images. The last block I like most is this tiny 1 1/4" plain square block which useful to hold any small tiny images and not to mention its easiness to handle compare to the 3" x 3" block I been having.

However, Lawn Fawn put up an announcement in their store that their shipment will be temporary suspended from 30 August 2011 till 06 September 2011. I guess it is due to the hurricane that the postal services in US has been affected. I waited for few days for Lawn Fawn shipping confirmation and finally they replied on the 07 September 2011 that my parcel has been shipped.

Well, after about seven (7) days of waiting, finally the parcel arrived to my doorstep today! Actually I did not expect it to arrive this fast and it surprised me when my husband called me to inform that I have parcel!

Two (2) of the strings tied to the Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You clear stamp package
I must says that it is a pleasure to buy from Lawn Fawn direct as they are so kind that they included some embellishments of strings (as per above photo) for me. I am not sure if these strings are part of the previous Lawn Trimmings as they no longer sell. Anyhow, these two (2) strings do make my day when I receive the parcel!

"Not-on-sale" edition of Lawn Fawn Thank You
That is not all they include for me! They also included a small clear stamp of "thank you" which attached together with Kelly Marie Alvarez's name card where at the back of the card, there is a hand written thank you message from her husband, Mike! They are so brilliant to keep first time customers like myself coming back to buy from them again with simply giving away a small clear stamp. The small clear stamp of "thank you" not only meant that they thank me for purchasing from them but also can be used to make some thank you cards. It is really killing two birds with one stone and I salute them for a brilliant marketing and rapport strategy!

Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You
Actually this Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You should be my second Lawn Fawn stamp collection as earlier I already ordered from Crafty Heart for Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea. However, the shipment has not arrive yet which my own purchase from Lawn Fawn direct has taken over making Lawn Fawn Hats Off to You my first Lawn Fawn stamp collection instead of Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea.
