Birdie Wedding Wishes

Birdie Wedding Wishes card - Front
This card is made for an old friend wedding. We know each other since primary school and coincidentally, his wife and me work in the same company. However, I cannot attend their wedding dinner tonight due to unforeseeable circumstances.

Card Patterns 97 sketch
This card layout is inspirational from Card Patterns 97 sketch/challenge as shown above but did not manage to enter the challenge in time.

Close-up : The birds
For this card, masking technique is used as the branch with birds on it from Hero Arts CL439 Kiss from the Sun has too many birds. Since this is a wedding wishes card, only two birds are needed to represent the couple. Thus, the two birds on the right and the first bird on the left are being masked off from the branch. The first bird on the left is masked off as it would be nicer to have the bird looking at his partner. Thus, the stand alone bird on the stamp set is used to replace the original bird standing on the branch.

Close-up : The distressed circle
A 3" white base circle is used to stamp the branch and birds. Then, the white circle is distressed with petal pink and opera pink inks using sponge before coloring the branch and birds with markers. Two yellow heart shaped gems are placed on top and in between the two birds.

Close-up : The birdhouse
A wood element from Hero Arts CL266 Mix & Match Elements is stamped on a white cardstock in jumbo java ink. The birdhouse from Hero Arts CL439 Kiss from the Sun is stamped on top of the wood element in black ink. It is trimmed after colored with markers. Another birdhouse is stamped on the circle under the branch. A string is tied from the branch to the birdhouse to make the hanging effect. A knot is purposely made to make the tying effect from the branch. The trimmed birdhouse is attached onto the stamped birdhouse on the circle using pop dots. A pink shinning heart shaped sticker is attached onto the bird hole. This birdhouse is just nice representing the new lovely home or family that the groom and bride going to start.

Close-up : The "Heartfelt Wishes" message
The message "Heartfelt Wishes" from Hero Arts CL272 All Occasion Messages is stamped in curvy below the birdhouse.

Close-up : Stamped yellow square
As for the four little squares, a yellow cardstock is stamped with the leave images from Hero Arts CL138 Bird Branch Alphabet in various direction in opera pink ink. Then, it is trimmed into four (4) 2" x 2" little squares and rounded the corners.

The four (4) little squares are then attached onto a 4.5" x 4.5" rounded corners rose patterned cardstock. It is then attached on top of a red square folded card. The circle is attached on the center of the card.

Theme : Bird and Wedding Wishes
