Made this card for my Copic markers buyer's 16 years old daughter who uses Copic markers in her drawing/painting. Just to encourage her on her talent/hobby.

Sketch Saturday Week #328

I decided to use the sketch from Sketch Saturday Week #328 as shown above.

Close-up : The sheep with its wool on glitter powder

The sheep image is stamped on a white circle and colored using Copic markers for its face and legs. For the sheep's wool, I apply a thin layer of glossy accent and sprinkle some glitter powder onto it. It create some texture and also a shinny look! The sentiment is stamped curvy to match the bottom part of the circle. Some faux stitching line is traced along the circle in black ink pen.

Close-up : Vellum border

On a red card base, three (3) different pattern papers are attached onto it as in sketch. Then, a vellum is punched and attached to the bottom of the card base as in sketch. The circle is attached onto the card base as in sketch using pop dots for some dimension.

Dimension : 11.43cm x 8.89 cm or 4.5" x 3.5"

Type : Top fold

Fusion Card Challenge - Shiny Pink

I decided to use the sketch from Fusion Card Challenge - Shiny Pink as shown above. I was inspired to use flowers on my card by Just Add Ink #232 - Inspiration Challenge! photo as shown below.

Close-up : Flowers panel

The flowers are stamped onto a white card stock using masking technique. Then, they are colored using Copic markers. I try to mimic the colors in the inspiration photo. The flowers panel is attached onto a green card base.

Close-up : Sentiment and button embellishment

A yellow both side fish tail banner is trimmed and sentiment is stamped. It is later attached onto the card base as the sketch. The card is finished off with a button tied with grey-white twine to the center as embellishment. The button is attached onto the card on the left side of the banner as in sketch.

Faux Watercolor Happy Retirement

Made this card for my daughter's school's afternoon session senior principal assistant retirement. She is also happens to be my daughter's Art teacher. By the way, she looks young and I did not think she is at the age of retirement!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge - Sketch #71

I adopt the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge - Sketch #71 as shown above as I want to try out the faux watercolor background technique introduced by Jennifer Mcguire. Since I am trying out, I opt for smaller space which the sketch is perfect for my experiment. Another reason I want to try out this technique on this card is because the senior principal assistant is an Art teacher in which I want to relate something artistry in the card.

Close-up : Faux watercolor flower 'painting'

I stamp the flower image on a watercolor paper and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Then, I smudge some distress inks onto the watercolor paper and spray water onto it as in Jennifer's video. I let it dry and the result is amazing. I really like this faux watercolor or 'painting' look!

Close-up : Sentiment and quicklet eyelets

On a yellow card base, a variety of colors stripes pattern papers is trimmed and attached onto it as in sketch follow by the faux watercolor image. The sentiment is customized using alphabets and stamped on a pink strip. Two (2) red quicklet eyelets are secured to the right edge of the sentiment to add some texture. It is attached onto the card using pop dots for some dimension.

For final touch-up, three (3) pink gems are attached to the right upper corner as in sketch.

Always Playing With Paper - The Challenge #13

I adopt the simple sketch from Always Playing With Paper - The Challenge #13 as shown above but minus the color combo challenge as I am not good with colors challenge. Furthermore, my cards are for ladies and I do not think the color combo challenge are for ladies.

Left : Monster in purple shade with white dashes
Right : Monster in orange shade with white dashes

As the sketch is simple, I start off with stamping the monster on a white card stock twice. Then, the monster is color using Copic markers. The monster looks a bit plain after I colored it and I thought to give it some design. Thus, I pick up my longtime-no-use white gel pen and started to put some dots onto the monster body but ending up look like dashes instead as my white gel ink flow is not smooth. I quite like the result as it looks natural and suit the monsters.

Close-up : Modified sentiment

The sentiment is a tricky part as I need to modify it from the original sentiment by changing 'hugs' to 'thanks' and also centered the 'monster' so that it look more natural. Luckily I got it right in one shot! Phew~

The white card stock is attached onto a red card base.
