Texture Pastes and Free Birthday Present

Left: Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday
Right: Ranger texture paste sample pack
On 08 April 2016, Simon Says Stamp send me an automated e-mail that contains a code of my free birthday gift if I purchase from Simon Says Stamp store which expires by end of April 2016. The free birthday gift is a Simon Says Stamp exclusive stamp Birthday Celebration as below.
During the same time, there is a 20% Ranger sale which valid until 10 April 2016. In view that I been wanting to get a jar of Ranger texture paste, I saw the opportunity to shoot two (2) birds with one stone! However, on 09 April 2016 when I tried to order and apply the birthday and the 20% Ranger sale code, only one coupon code is allowed! :( I e-mail Simon Says Stamp to ask if I can order two (2) separate orders using the birthday code and Ranger code coupons but shipping fees charged for one time only. However, to my disappointment, the answer is no. :(

Ranger texture paste sample pack
On 15 April 2016, Simon Says Stamp send me another automated e-mail to remind me on my birthday gift. Since the 20% Ranger sale has past, I tried to to compare the price point of the product versus the shipping fees from other online stores are offering. During the hopping, I discovered actually there is a three-in-one pack of Ranger texture paste which I believe it was released earlier this year. The three-in-one pack (or sample pack) come with texture paste in opaque matte, transparent matte and transparent gloss in 1 oz jar (the bigger jar is 3.9 oz). I find this sample pack is more suitable to me because:
  • it is in smaller jar which serve the purpose I may not use it as often
  • the price is cheaper
  • more variety of pastes

After much comparison, finally I find it is a wise choice that I go ahead to buy the Ranger texture paste sample pack from Simon Says Stamp. Although the product price and shipping fees are not as comparative to other online store, I get to have my free birthday gift - a plus point to remember.

Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday
I ordered on 29 April 2016, a few days before the birthday code coupon expire but when I enter the birthday code coupon, the stamp applied to my cart is not Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration! It is Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday (please refer photo above)! I am not sure why there is a change in the free birthday gift or perhaps Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration is out of stock. Actually, I really fond on Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration because of the elephant and balloon. Well, since it is a free birthday gift, I just take whatever it is as it is free after all. :P

Actual Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday
On 03 May 2016, Simon Says Stamp e-mailed me to inform my order was shipped on 02 May 2016 and leave me with a tracking number. After a week plus, finally, the package arrived safely on my hands! I am anxious if the free birthday gift is actually Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration or Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday. I know it is Simon Says Stamp Magical Birthday as it was what being carted into my cart and indeed it is.

The only additional tool I need to get now is the palette knife which I think I can use something similar to it as I am doubt if I am going to use the texture paste as often. I also need to re-visit Jennifer McGuire Ink blog on her techniques using texture paste so that I can apply some of the techniques! Yay!

Envelope Punch Board

Crafty Saver is having another product promotion. This time is We R Memory Keepers Punch Boards namely the:

The promotion is any three (3) punch boards for USD$39 or any four (4) punch boards for USD$49. Yes, it is a great deal as one punch board normal price is at USD$19.99. But Crafty Saver is having it at USD$14.99 per punch board as their selling price without the bundle. However, with the bundle promotion, it is more great bargain as one punch board is only minimum USD$13!
We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board
I tried to select the punch boards I want but above the six (6) punch boards, I only find that Envelope Punch Board is great use at my current level. I did find that Flower Punch Board useful but I could not find another one more punch board that I find useful at my current level. Thus, I decided not to be greedy and stick to Envelope Punch BoardI have seen a number of review on Envelope Punch Board and mostly have good reviews. Furthermore, this Envelope Punch Board can make various sizes of envelope. Although I have Martha Stewart Scoring Board, making envelopes using Martha Stewart Scoring Board not really ideal. Actually I been thinking if I should sell off the Martha Stewart Scoring Board and change to the small scale Martha Stewart Mini Scoring Board. Well, that is another time thinking and comparison.

When I made my order on the Envelope Punch BoardCrafty Saver is having another sale on this particular punch board. Instead of USD$14.99, it is now only USD$13.99! It is merely a dollar saving but a saving is a great deal for me! I made my order and payment on 15 December 2014. As mentioned in my previous post, Crafty Saver does not send out shipping notification. Thus, I have to login to Crafty Saver to check if my parcel has been shipped after few days. I was surprised that Crafty Saver is able to process and ship my item on the same day of purchase. It is probably the order is not many or they are just clearing as much orders before the Christmas weeks. Anyhow, I am just glad to know the item is on the way. :)

The box that shipped the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board
I was surprised that there is an acknowledgement slip on my door gate when my family and I come back from outing on Christmas afternoon which is a public holiday in Malaysia. I never know that there would be any delivery make on public holiday. Nevertheless, thanks so much to my darling hubby who picks up the parcel at the post office today. It caused him some difficulties as the parcel is quite big, 13" x 13" box and he rode a super motorbike to pick the parcel.

Hopefully I am able to use this Envelope Punch Board more often as I recently have a habit of making non standard size cards.

Stencil and Wink of Stella!!!

From top to bottom:
My Favorite Things (MFT) Petal Circles
Clear Glitter Wink of Stella Brush
Fiskars Triple Track Cutting Blades
As mentioned previously, I had a shopping spree during the Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions. The other two (2) parcels has arrived last week and finally today, the Simon Says Stamp parcel arrived!

I made the payment to Simon Says Stamp on 29 November 2014 (Malaysia local time), same as the other two (2) parcels. However, when I review the invoice three (3) days after the payment, I realized that I did not apply the discount code! Ouch! Although the saving is not much but being me, every cents count!

I quickly wrote an e-mail to Simon Says Stamp to inform that I forgotten to apply the discount code and ask if the discount code can be re-apply as my order date was on 28 November 2014. I also apologize on my careless and any inconveniences caused. Then, I cross my fingers hoping that Simon Says Stamp can do something about this order. Well, the same day revert e-mail from Tiffany says that she would get the refund made as soon as possible! That is a relief! Phew~

On 04 December 2014, I received shipping notification from Simon Says Stamp. However, I am yet to receive the refund and that worry me a little. I comfort myself that I will ask Simon Says Stamp again if the parcel has arrived but no refund made yet. Eventually, the refund was finally made on 11 December 2014, few days before the parcel arrive! Thanks Simon Says Stamp so much for their services.

My first stencil - My Favorite Things (MFT) Petal Circles
Back to the products I get from Simon Says Stamp. I always wanted to try stencil as stencil is very popular nowadays. I decided to take My Favorite Things (MFT) Petal Circles because of its price (after discount) and usability. This is my first stencil and I cannot wait to play with it using all those techniques that been introduced by Jennifer McGuire.

Clear Glitter Wink of Stella Brush
The second item that I been longing to have is the clear glitter Wink of Stella brush! It has been on my wish list ever since I heard of it but unable to purchase as the stores I previously frequent do not carry this product or the clear ink is always out of stock. With this clear glitter Wink of Stella brush on hand, I bet most of my projects will have that simmering look soon!

Fiskars Triple Track Cutting Blades
The third item is this Fiskars Triple Track cutting blades. The cutting blade that originally come with my Fiskars trimmer is not working perfectly anymore. Whenever I run the cutting blade through a paper, the paper would not be trimmed sharp and has these small frayed leftover on its side. I am not sure why this happens or it is time to replace my cutting blade. But I remember these things happen after I used it to trim other things (magnetic sheet, plastic and etc) other than paper. Perhaps that is the reason. However, the cutting blade is still able to trim. I think I better separate the cutting blades - new cutting blade for trimming paper only and the old cutting blade for trimming other things.

Hopefully I can play with the stencil soon!

New Store: Crafty Saver

First row from left to right:
Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mini Kit #7
Second row:
Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Storage Tin
Ever since Custom Crops closes down its business, I been searching for new stores that offer that kind of discount. This is a very difficult task but I do come close a few of online stores and one of them is Crafty Saver

Crafty Saver concept is more alike of one of the online store I frequent back then known as Oh My Crafts! which has been closes down as well. Their concept is having special discount if you purchase up to certain amount or bundle of products for over a period of time. Since I do not have much choice, I decided to give Crafty Saver a try. Furthermore, they are having promotion on Tim Holtz Ranger products which I wanted to buy as well.

I placed the order and made the payment on 12 August 2014. One thing not good about Crafty Saver is that they do not send out shipping notification! Aarrgghh..... In order to check the order status, customers have to login to the Crafty Saver account! This is really a minus point in customer service! Nevertheless, after logging into the Crafty Saver account, I am able to find my tracking number and track my parcel shipment. My parcel was shipped on 14 August 2014 which is great as previously, Oh My Crafts! takes up to weeks to ship out the parcel. I was not at home yesterday and the delivery man left me an acknowledgment slip. Thanks to my darling hubby who picks up the parcel at the post office today.

Tim Holtz Distress Ink Mini Kit #7
I am so thankful for Tim Holtz to have the distress ink in the mini distress ink pads. This really save me a lot both money and space. I have a few full size distress ink pads but I think I will switch to mini distress ink pads. Why? First, it is more value for money and I get more colors. Second, mini distress ink pads work better with most of the techniques as suggested by Jennifer McGuire. Third, I do not use distress ink that often and mini distress ink pads just save the day. :P Previously, I already gotten Tim Holtz distress ink mini kit #4 and now, I am getting Tim Holtz distress ink mini kit #7.

Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool
That Ranger mini ink blending tool is another tool recommended by Jennifer McGuire. I purchase this Ranger mini blending tool not because it is recommended by Jennifer McGuire but also because of the soft edges it gives. I always have hard edges when I use the original blending tool making my projects not as good. Furthermore, the mini foam stack well at the bottom of the mini distress ink pads which I find it very useful in organizing and easy to access. Actually, I already have a pair of Ranger mini ink blending tool but I forgotten and bought another pair! Anyhow, it is good to have a spare pair.

Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Storage Tin
I can easily stack the mini distress ink pads but I like it to be organize and portable too. Thus, the Tim Holtz mini distress ink storage tin is the answer! On Jennifer McGuire's Tim Holtz & Ranger Product Release Close-Up video earlier, Jennifer also mentioned that this Tim Holtz mini distress ink storage tin is able to hold Hero Arts mini ink pads or cubes. I plan to buy Hero Arts mini ink pads or cubes as well if my budget permits. So, getting this Tim Holtz mini distress ink storage tin is a good move! :P If not, I just use it for my mini distress ink pads collection.

Hopefully, I can play with these new tools soon!

Paper Smooches A Little Lovin' Stamp Set

From left to rightPaper Smooches A Little Lovin'
Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black
Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love
Is National Scrapbooking Day (NSD) in the US on 03 May 2014 and it means more sale! I know Custom Crops will have a sale too like last year with some big discount. Anxiously, I wait for the newsletter announcing the sale and it came on 03 May 2014. But the discount start from 25% to 45%, a 5% decrease from 2013 NSD sale. Nevertheless, I still seek a peek at my favorite brands if I can get a great bargain on this sale.

Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love
As usual, my first priority is to Lawn Fawn products. I browse through the products and sorting the price from low to high. Those 12x12 pattern papers come into view first but did not interest me as usual. I skip them and my eyes landed on Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love stamp set which is at the price of less than USD$9! Upon seeing that price, without any hesitation, I just add that stamp set into my cart. I seldom buy Christmas stamp set as I have a few that I think is good enough for me to survive for the season. But Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love stamp set has lots of stamps that you can build those season cards! Thanks goodness it was this cheap which enable me to own it!

Paper Smooches A Little Lovin'
Then, I browse through the rest of Lawn Fawn products but nothing else that interest me - pricing wise. So, I move on to other brands that I have interest in and finally landed on Paper Smooches products. Well, well, well. The entire Paper Smooches products was on 25% off! Usually Custom Crops will have up to maximum of 15% discount on Paper Smooches products and with this new discount, it was a great saving for me! So, I weighted my choices on the Paper Smooches products as I have limited budget. Finally, I settled for Paper Smooches A Little Lovin' stamp set. I love this set so much as there are many cute images on this set especially the elephant mother and her baby. I see a lot of usage on that image either for welcoming newborn or sending hugs and kisses.

Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black
As there still some 'room' in my budget, I have included Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black to my order. Recently, I feel that my Tsukineko Memento Dye ink pad is not that 'juicy' anymore. Thus, I think it is time for me to refill the ink inside the ink pad.

This time order packaging - small box of 8" (W) x 4" (H) x 4" (D)
I made my payment on the same day as the sale was last till midnight. Then, after about six (6) days later, an e-mail shipping notification came to acknowledge that my parcel has been shipped. Almost two weeks later, today, my parcel finally arrived! I am lucky that I am at home today to receive the parcel as usually I expect the postman drop it to my mailbox. But this time, Custom Crops sent me a small box instead - a 8" (W) x 4" (H) x 4" (D) box. I was curious as why it is so and quickly open up the box. It is because I ordered that Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black which cannot be included in a padded envelope!

Hope I get to play with these new stamp sets soon!

27 May 2014 - Edit to add:
Today I received a refund note from Custom Crops which surprised me as I did not have any recent purchases with Custom Crops. The last order was safely arrived with 'all the items' as per my order. At first, I thought that it was a scam e-mail or what but I still open up the e-mail and read the content. Well, it seem that not 'all the items' was delivered. I had actually purchased Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares - White on my last order but Custom Crops did not ship it due to out of stock and I do not realize it until Custom Crops refund me! I am not sure at first and search for my invoice and indeed, I have purchased the Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares - White! I do not even realize something is missing when I received my parcel! Guess during that time, I am just too happy receiving my stamp sets and forgotten about what I have ordered. Thanks Custom Crops for being so honest and refund me! I told my husband about the incident and he teased me that I been shopping online these few months and forgotten what I have actually bought. Silly me.....:O

Mini Doily Dies and New Blending Tool!

15 April 2014 is Tax Day in USA and Custom Crops sent another newsletter that they are having sale on that day which all items are at 15% off! You may ask why I am excited about it since I had a purchase done back in January 2014 with 75% off. Yes, there is a sale up to 75% off in January 2014 but most of the items are in 10% off and only selected products (mostly and luckily most of the selected products are Lawn Fawn products) are at 50% or 75% off. Thus, I am not able to get other brands from that sale. But this time sale, all items are at 15% off which means I able to look at other brands item! Yay!

Left : My Favorite Things (MFT) Die-Namics Mini Doily Circle
Right : Ranger mini ink blending tool
Since it is all items on 15% off, I am looking at one of my long wished item, My Favorite Things (MFT) Die-Namics Mini Doily Circle. I wanted this die so much as first, it is valuable for the price I paid as I get to have four (4) mini doily circle. Second, I have seen this mini doily circle in so many creative and incredible project and most importantly, it fits my bookmark project which I wanted to make so much!

My Favorite Things (MFT) Die-Namics Mini Doily Circle
Well, with 15% off, this My Favorite Things (MFT) Die-Namics Mini Doily Circle is much, much more valuable as usually Custom Crops will only have 10% off on My Favorite Things (MFT) products. For some, 5% extra discount might not be anything but for me, it is a lot. This is mainly due to the exchange rate and shipping charges. Buying craft products in USA means that I do not get to enjoy the 'free shipping' that always mentioned by the vendors. That is a negative points and means that I need to save whenever I can save.

Ranger mini ink blending tool
The next item I pick is the new Ranger mini ink blending tool. I cannot help myself not to buy this after saw Jennifer McGuire introduction video on it. It is just seem so useful and easier to control. Thus, I give it a try. Furthermore, I am in need of new blending tool as my distress ink collection are growing. :P

Payment was made on the same day but parcel was shipped one (1) week later. I guess there are so much orders to deal with. Well, Custom Crops delivery transit is always faster that other vendors I encountered as about one (1) weeks plus later, today, the parcel has arrived! I am so excited to want use these dies and blending tool already. Hopefully, I can spare some times for them soon!

Like the previous order, Custom Crops did not include any free gift or sample. It is just my items and a delivery order.

Fiskars SureCut Card Making Paper Trimmer

I received Custom Crops newsletter on 17 October 2013 that they are having a Fiskars Sale! Well, I always wanted a new or proper craft paper trimmer to replace my current trimmer which I deem not so professional (in card making). My ideal wishlist is Fiskars! Thus, I quickly pop over to Custom Crops to check the trimmer that I want.

Fiskars SureCut 9" Card Making Paper Trimmer - still in its original packaging
I am wishing for either Fiskars SureCut 12" Deluxe Paper Crafting Trimmer or the Fiskars SureCut 9" Card Making Paper Trimmer as recommended by Jennifer McGuire in her 'Favourite Trimmers' video. The prices that offered by Custom Crops indeed quite cheap. On a non sale period, most of the Custom Crops' prices are already below Manufacturer's Recommended Sale Price (MRSP). With this sale, the prices are below the regular price that Custom Crops usually offer!

After much consideration on item price, shipping cost and its usability, I finally settle for Fiskars SureCut 9" Card Making Paper Trimmer. I did not select Fiskars SureCut 12" Deluxe Paper Crafting Trimmer because both the item price and shipping cost are higher - almost 50% higher.

Fiskars SureCut 9" Card Making Paper Trimmer - different angle
I made my payment on 20 October 2013 and the item was shipped 4 days afterward. A week later, my new trimmer has arrived! I always like Custom Crops shipping as it takes about a week plus to arrive to my doorstep.

I gotten the same sample as previous order - a bunch of different sizes and colors card stocks, a partial of Cosmo Cricket - Delovely: Delirious and a little brad! Now, I have three (3) sets of the same sample! Wonder how I can use them.....

Free Wooden Mini Pegs

Today, I got a surprise package! Why I say it is a surprise package? It is because I did not had any recent purchases online and secondly, I did not expect this package to arrive after so many months! This wooden mini pegs is now officially free! Here is how the story goes as to why I gotten this wooden mini pegs free.

Mini wooden pegs (free)
I bid and won some wooden mini pegs at eBay on 28 August 2013. Payment was made on the same day as well. Then, the next day, 29 August 2013, the seller updates that the item has been shipped using economy International shipping which takes minimum 15 days or maximum 30 days to arrive to its destination! Well, I cannot complaint much since I got the item at just USD$0.99 with free shipping.

However, after about a month waiting for its arrival, the item never did arrive! I already began to give up hope when the 15 days has passed but I still hope that the next 15 days the item will turn up. But it never did! *sob sob*

As I purchase the item through eBay using PayPal, I am eligible for 'Buyer Protection'. Thus, I open a case in Resolution Centre. The system automatically given me two (2) options after I selected some answers to the pre-questions. The options are either to re-send the item or have a full refund. I end up deciding to opt for full refund after a careful consideration on the options given. The reason I opt for full refund is that I will be moving soon. Secondly, I also afraid that the re-send item have the same issue or if the seller did re-send the item or not. Thus, I lower my risk to the minimum which is full refund. The next day, the seller refunded my item price in full and the case is closed.

Never crossed my mind that after 21 days receiving my full refund, the item arrived at my doorstep today! Well, the resolution case has been closed and I received my refund but also received my item now. What should I do? It crossed my mind if I should contact the seller and tell him/her that the item has arrived and pay him/her back the item price. But after a rational analysis and thinking, I decided to keep it quiet or as the way it is. First, the seller mention that the item will arrive after maximum of 30 days but I did not receive the item after 30 days of waiting. Secondly, what if the item never arrive and I never open a resolution case? Then, I shall be the one on the loss side. Thus, it is legal that I ask for refund as the estimated arrival time was not fulfilled in the first place. If the seller were to put a longer expected arrival time, he/she would not be on the loss side then. :P

Anyway, it is great that the item finally arrived even after pass due its expected arrival time as I can experience using it in my coming project.

Some of Wish Lists Fulfilled!

Top row from left to right :
Lawn Fawn Harold's ABCs
Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home Lawn Cuts
Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home stamp set
Cuttlebug® A2 Swiss Dots Emboss Folder
Ranger Embossing Powder - Gold
Jet Black StazOn ink pad
I been waiting for Custom Crops' National Scrapbooking Day (NSD) sale and keeping my eyes on my e-mail for Custom Crops newsletter announcing the sale. Finally, the newsletter arrive on 04 May 2013 whereby the will be a 24 hours sale for NSD. However, the sale discount this year is limited up to 50% compared to last year which is 75%. Well, any discount is great as it means more saving!

From left to right :
Ranger Embossing Powder - Gold
Jet Black StazOn ink pad
I quickly select and add the stamp sets I been wanting to the cart. Since there still a bit of room (I mean budget) for other items, I add on the Jet Black StazOn ink pad as I been postponing to make a card with plastic sheet for a while.

I also added a gold embossing powder as I find it useful for a number of occasions (Chinese New Year and wedding, just to name one or two occasions). Furthermore, my stash only consists of white embossing powder. I think I need to at least have the basics colors of white, black, gold, silver and clear. I think these colors are commonly used compared to other colors.

Cuttlebug® A2 Swiss Dots Emboss Folder
The shipping rate is the same after I play (add into and take off from the cart) with few other items. However, due to budget limitation, I just make up my mind and taken the final item, Cuttlebug® A2 Swiss Dots Emboss Folder into my cart. This embossing folder has been in my wish list for a while. Although it is not that expensive but I did not give priority for it as most of the time, my priority goes to stamp sets! :P

I made my payment on the 05 May 2013 and an e-mail confirmation was delivered to me. It is also and has been always stated that the delivery will be typically shipped within 3-5 business days. However, I did not get any e-mail on the delivery confirmation after 10 days of waiting. I began to worried and decided to write in to Custom Crops.

From left to right :
Lawn Fawn Harold's ABCs
Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home Lawn Cuts
Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home stamp set
Amy from Custom Crops reverted on 17 May 2013 that they been waiting for Jet Black StazOn ink pad stock arrival which delayed my order shipment. Amy informs that they expected it to arrive by the early next week. She ensures that my order will be shipped once they gotten the stock. Well, it is either Custom Crops' inventory got issue or the initial stock have some issue as when my order was placed, there is no mention that the Jet Black StazOn ink pad needs to be back ordered. Anyhow, at least now my worry has lessen after knowing the truth.

On 20 May 2013, Custom Crops finally shipped my order. Phew~ Well, it arrived today! Yay! It was actually delivered to my doorstep on 31 May 2013 but I was away outstation. Thanks to my darling husband who helped me to pick up from the post office just now!

Sample or free gift from Custom Crops
Well, Custom Crops always have sample in customers' order. But this time, it is not quarter part sample of pattern paper. I get a bunch of different sizes and colors card stocks, a partial of Cosmo Cricket - Delovely: Delirious and a little brad! I think if I put all these papers together, I able to make a card or two out of it.

I hope to use these 'toys' as soon as possible! I really have a great idea to use that Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home stamp set!

Winner of Paper Made Bakery How's The Weather? Release Day and Blog Hop

Paper Made Bakery (PMB) always have some goodies for their monthly Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop. As there are goodies offered, everyone is getting their chances to win including myself! :P

Well, after months of joining the Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop, finally, I got my chance to the goodies! I was picked on PMB How's The Weather? Fresh Baked Kit release and blog hop. PMB used to offer one of Fresh Baked Kit as prize but they changed the prize a bit few months ago. Now, they are offering some goodies prize instead of the whole monthly Fresh Baked Kit. Well, I am fine with that since it is free!

It was a surprise for me as I get to won as I never give high hope in being picked. I write to Shannon Fralish right away as it is indicated that I have seven (7) days from the announcement to contact PMB. If not, the prize goes back into the prize picnic basket for a future contest/giveaway!
