Homey Thank You

My family are planning to go to Singapore mid next month to visit my my daughter's godmother who is also my childhood best friend as well as some of my in-laws relatives. We will be staying at my cousin-in-law's house. Thus, I make this card for her and her family as a gesture of thanks on their generosity and hospitality.

Sketch Saturday Week #222

This card layout is inspirational from Sketch Saturday Week #222 sketch/challenge as shown above. It has inspire me to create a scene of a house with sun, clouds and flowers. The house is perfect for this card since my family will be staying at my cousin-in-law's house.

Close-up : The sun and clouds

The sun is stamped on an orange card stock and trimmed accordingly. The clouds are stamped on white card stock and trimmed as well. Then, the sun and clouds are arranged on a blue card stock which represent the sky. A blue lining is added to the clouds to make it pop-up from the skyline. A pattern paper from Lawn Fawn Bright Side that resemble grass is used as the house's lawn. 

Close-up : Paper pieced house

I use a house image to represent the image location in the sketch. The house is stamped on a white card stock and some pattern papers. The image of the house on the white card stock and pattern papers are trimmed accordingly. Then, I paper pieced onto the house stamped on the white card stock. 

Close-up : Glossy window glasses

The windows and door are paper pieced using white card stock and colored using Copic markers. I added some glossy accent to the window glasses. This is my first time using glossy accent since I bought it some times ago.

Close-up : Ribbon that resemble grass and flowers

As for the ribbon ruffle location, I used a ribbon that resemble grass and flowers which is just coordinate the scene. The pre-arranged skyline and lawn is attached onto a yellow card base. The house is attached onto the scene using dimensional foam as the ribbon itself has some dimension to it.

Close-up : The perfect sentiment for my coming situation

The sentiment is stamped on a yellow card stock which has the corners rounded. Some faux stitching are added around the sentiment. It is later layer on a blue card stock which has the corners rounded as well. It is attached onto the card base as in the sketch using dimensional foam.

A green pentagon card is scalloped four-sided. Message of "Best" which printed on pink paper is arranged upper right side diagonally. The "Wishes" message which printed on the same pink paper is arranged align to one of the side. A light purple punched angle is attached in between the gap of "Best Wishes" message.

An aqua rectangular card is trimmed on the three (3) edges using 'volcano' design craft scissor. The message "Miss You" printed on yellow paper layered with black paper is attached in the center of the aqua card. A pink punched angle is attached on top of the message.

A pink rectangular card is rounded with partial circle. The message "Thank You Very Much" is printed on a yellow paper and trimmed rectangular. The message is then attached to the center of the pink card. A blue punched angle is attached on top of the message.

Just For You Card - Front

This card is themed semi-color of purple and red. Thus most of the materials used are based on various hues and shades of purple and red.

Close-up : The real dried lavender inside the red frame

Red foam rectangular is trimmed and a dark yellow mesh is used to make the background. The whole thing would look like a frame. Then, a small stick of real dried lavender is attached in the frame with a white ribbon tied to the lavender stem.The red frame is then attached on upper centered white card.

On the bottom of the white card, a medium purple strip with colonial trimmed edge both side is attached. At the center of the strip, a purple flower button is added layered with a purple ribbon. Two (2) punched purple butterflies are attached on the right and left of the strip in 3D so that there is some texture to the card.

On the right side of the white card, a dark purple corrugated card is attached which has been trimmed rectangular. Three (3) medium red square papers are attached diagonally whereby each square contains "Just", "For" and "You" which make-up the message "Just For You".

Close-up : Pot of daisies with an outstanding sakura

Using a pink card as background, an aqua corrugated  trimmed pot look alike is placed at the bottom centered of the pink card. It is further decorated with a bow tied with a silver ribbon. Then, white punched daisies are placed randomly on the upper center of the pink card.  The stems of the daisies are drawn using brown marker to the pot. Then a punched dark orange sakura is placed in the center on top of the daisies. The sakura stem is made using a black paper and a punched green leave is attached to the stem. The sakura outstanding is further enhanced by placing some tiny silver heart-shaped shinnies on the center of the sakura.

Close-up : Message "One of a Kind"

The message "One of a Kind" is stamped on the centered bottom of the pot; at the centered bottom of the pink card.

 A black background image with hearts and message "Love" is placed diagonally on the centered left side on top of a aqua card. Then, another image with an opened heart-shaped present box with a bear sitting inside and message "Love" is placed diagonally on the centered right side of the card.

In between the images, a light pink punched heart-shape with message "Love" is placed centered in pop-up state.

The message of "Hugs & Kisses" which printed on a light yellow paper is trimmed rectangular. Silver glittering pen is used to highlight the "H", "&" and "K" of the message.
