Sunflower Wishing You A Birthday Filled with Sunshine

Sunflower Wishing You A Birthday Filled with Sunshine
Made two (2) bright and sunny birthday cards today as inspired by Addicted to CAS - Challenge #200 - Sun and AAA Birthday - June Challenge #26 - Flowers which prompted me to use the sunflower as the focal image.

AAA Birthday - June Challenge #26 - Flowers

Sunflower Wishing You A Birthday Filled with Sunshine - side by side
For these cards, I am using Jennifer McGuire's split card technique whereby you trim your one (1) image into two (2) to make two (2) cards at once. I even thought about what I should make with the little strip with some stamped petals on it. Well, that can wait for the latter.

Split sunflower into three (3) section
The sunflower is stamped on a bigger-sized cardstock so that the split card technique can be applied. After colored using Copic markers. The image is trimmed as shown in the photo above. I got two (2) 4.25" x 5.5" and a 1" strip.

Sunflower Wishing You A Birthday Filled with Sunshine - vertical design
The sentiment is added curly to match the sunflower shape as I want corner-designed cards. Then, they are attached to the yellow card base.

Close-up: Glitter on the petals
The card is finished by adding some glitter onto the petals to make them sparkle and shine. That is what a birthday card should be, sparkling and shining.

Butterflies Flying by to Say Hi

Butterflies Flying by to Say Hi
Made these postcard-style cards for my new colleagues. I joined the company in April 2021 but due to MCO lockdown again, we still unable to meet physically. Hopefully one day we can gather physically and pass along these postcard-style cards.

CAS - Colours and Sketches - Challenge #425 - Sketch
For this card, again, I am adopting the sketch from CAS - Colours and Sketches - Challenge #425 - Sketch as shown above. I made two (2) cards as well but changing up the image of the butterflies.

Butterflies Flying by to Say Hi - Design 1
The butterfly images are stamped on white card stock and colored using Copic markers. The butterflies are die-cut using matching dies.

Butterflies Flying by to Say Hi - Design 2
Two (2) lace border rectangles are die-cut from orange cardstock. While two (2) dotted rectangles are die-cut from cream cardstock with a light pattern. The cream dotted rectangle is attached to the orange lace border card base as in the sketch. The sentiment is stamped in the vertical direction as shown in the sketch.

Close-up: Shimmering wings
Then, the butterflies are attached to the cream dotted rectangle as shown in the sketch. I alternate the butterflies with the first and third butterflies with the same shape and design. The second butterfly is different and attached using foam tape to give some dimension.

Close-up: Shimmering wings
The card is finished by adding some glitter onto the butterflies' wings to make them sparkle and shine.

Dad is My Hero

Dad is My Hero

Hope I still make it in time for Father's Day cards for those who needed them.

CAS - Colours and Sketches - Challenge #423 - Sketch
For this card, I am adopting the sketch from CAS - Colours and Sketches - Challenge #423 - Sketch as shown above. I made two (2) cards out from the sketch where one of them I rotate the 180 degrees.

Dad is My Hero - original sketch
The owl and cloud images are stamped on white card stock and colored using Copic markers. The owl is die-cut using matching dies while the cloud is cut hand-free. The sides of the cloud are toned down using distress ink.
Dad is My Hero - 180 degrees turn sketch

Close-up: Bold sentiment
The sentiment is stamped onto light cream strips and attached to the yellow card base as shown in the sketch.

Close-up: Shimmering mask and cloak and googly eyes
The cloud images are attached to the light cream strip as shown in the sketch. The owl is attached using foam tape. The card is finished by adding some glitter onto the mask and cloak to make it sparkle. Finally, two (2) googly eyes are attached to the owl's eyes to give it some playful and funny feelings.
