Circle Cupcake Tri-folds Birthday Cards

I been making some cards offline but never got the chance to enter challenges or post them on my blog. Thus, today, I am determine to make some cards and post them to enter into some challenges.

I am making some birthday cards as my company likes to have birthday celebration and I bet it is nice to give out some handmade birthday cards.

CAS(E) This Sketch #364

For this card, I am adopting the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch #364 as shown above. I made two (2) cards where another card, I rotate it 180 degrees.

I die cut some stitched circles in yellow, blue and green cardstocks. I used digital stamp cupcakes and die cut the cupcakes into circle. Then, they are colored using Copic markers before adhere onto a yellow stitched circles.

I wanted to make a tri-folds cards so that the circles will be hanging on the card edge. After folded the card bases, the sentiment is stamped onto the card base as shown in the sketch. The circles are then adhere onto the card bases as in sketch.

For final touches, some shimmers are added to the cupcakes cream and the candle. A red gem are added to cherry to give some dimensions.

I am continuing my Christmas cards/projects target and this is another card I made today.

Happy Little Stampers (HLS) December Sketch Challenge

For this card, I am adopting simple Happy Little Stampers (HLS) December Sketch Challenge as shown above.

The moose is stamped on a white circle. A Christmas hat is added to its head to make it more Christmas feel. The images are colored using Copic markers. Then, some faux stitching are added to the edges of the circle before it is distressed to tone down the whiteness. It is attached onto a yellow scalloped circle using foam tape. Two (2) giggle eyes are added to the moose.

A snowflakes pattern paper is trimmed and attached onto a card base. Then, the scalloped circle with the moose image is attached onto the card as in sketch.

Close-up: Sentiment

The sentiment is stamped on a tiny die cut fishtail yellow banner. On the fishtail end, two (2) mistletoe leaves are stamped according to the banner end and colored using Copic marker. I decided to use red gems as the berries which add some dimension. It is attached onto the card using foam tape.

The card is finished off with adding some shimmer to the white areas of the Christmas hat.

Well, to have that Christmas feeling is not enough by just one door hanger, right? So, I made another Christmas door hanger for my son's room. This time, I made a little cuter and more kiddy look since my son is just three (3) years plus old.

The moose is stamped on a white circle. A Christmas hat is added to its head to make it more Christmas feel. The images are colored using Copic markers. Then, the edges of the circle is distressed to tone down the whiteness. It is attached onto a yellow scalloped circle. Two (2) giggle eyes are added to the moose and one white gem is added to the hat to make it a bit sparkle.

Close-up: Sentiment

The sentiment is stamped on a tiny die cut fishtail yellow banner but on the reverse direction from the previous. The mistletoe is created using the same way.

For my son's door hanger, I die cut a light blue tag and trimmed away the right side of the hanging hole. The scalloped circle is attached to the door hanger follow by the sentiment banner in which I use foam tape too so that it will have some dimension.

Made this card for another of my first time Copic markers buyers who uses Copic markers in his arts.

Sunday Stamps Challenge - SSC88 - It's a Sketch!

I adopt the simple sketch from Sunday Stamps Challenge - SSC88 - It's a Sketch! as shown above.

I decided to use a tag as the main focal as suggest in the sketch. The bunny is stamped on a white rounded corners rectangular and colored using Copic markers. It is attached onto a yellow tag using pop dots. The tag is completed with the grey and blue twines and two (2) googly eyes.

Close-up: The tag

On a green card base, some various 'masking stickers' patterns are attached onto the top portion of the card base in zig zag way. The tag is attached directly onto these 'masking stickers'.

Close-up: Sentiment with silver glitter ink

The sentiment is stamped at the right corner bottom of the card base. Again, the space in the word 'Thank You' is filled or colored with silver glitter ink to emphasis it.

I am an aunty (Chinese: 姑媽; pinyin: Gū Mā) again as my second nephew was delivered via Caesarean yesterday afternoon. I make this card to congratulate my younger brother and sister-in-law on their second baby boy, Kayven. It will be passed to them tomorrow when I visit them.

Fusion Card Challenge - The Beach House

I decided to use both the sketch and photo inspiration from Fusion Card Challenge - The Beach House as shown above. I use colors from the photo inspiration.

Close-up : Prince charming

The prince is stamped on a white die cut rectangular and colored using Copic markers. The edges are distressed with yellow distress ink to tone down the whiteness.

Close-up : Sentiment

The sentiment is stamped on a blue scrap strip which later adhere onto a yellow scrap strip.

A blue dot on white pattern paper is adhere onto a yellow card base. Then, the sentiment strip is adhere onto the card base as in sketch. The prince image is adhere onto the card using pop dots as in the sketch. As a final touch, the prince's crown is decorated with some blue and white gems.

Is National Scrapbooking Day (NSD) in the US on 03 May 2014 and it means more sale! I know Custom Crops will have a sale too like last year with some big discount. Anxiously, I wait for the newsletter announcing the sale and it came on 03 May 2014. But the discount start from 25% to 45%, a 5% decrease from 2013 NSD sale. Nevertheless, I still seek a peek at my favorite brands if I can get a great bargain on this sale.

Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love

As usual, my first priority is to Lawn Fawn products. I browse through the products and sorting the price from low to high. Those 12x12 pattern papers come into view first but did not interest me as usual. I skip them and my eyes landed on Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love stamp set which is at the price of less than USD$9! Upon seeing that price, without any hesitation, I just add that stamp set into my cart. I seldom buy Christmas stamp set as I have a few that I think is good enough for me to survive for the season. But Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love stamp set has lots of stamps that you can build those season cards! Thanks goodness it was this cheap which enable me to own it!

Paper Smooches A Little Lovin'

Then, I browse through the rest of Lawn Fawn products but nothing else that interest me - pricing wise. So, I move on to other brands that I have interest in and finally landed on Paper Smooches products. Well, well, well. The entire Paper Smooches products was on 25% off! Usually Custom Crops will have up to maximum of 15% discount on Paper Smooches products and with this new discount, it was a great saving for me! So, I weighted my choices on the Paper Smooches products as I have limited budget. Finally, I settled for Paper Smooches A Little Lovin' stamp set. I love this set so much as there are many cute images on this set especially the elephant mother and her baby. I see a lot of usage on that image either for welcoming newborn or sending hugs and kisses.

Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black

As there still some 'room' in my budget, I have included Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black to my order. Recently, I feel that my Tsukineko Memento Dye ink pad is not that 'juicy' anymore. Thus, I think it is time for me to refill the ink inside the ink pad.

This time order packaging - small box of 8" (W) x 4" (H) x 4" (D)

I made my payment on the same day as the sale was last till midnight. Then, after about six (6) days later, an e-mail shipping notification came to acknowledge that my parcel has been shipped. Almost two weeks later, today, my parcel finally arrived! I am lucky that I am at home today to receive the parcel as usually I expect the postman drop it to my mailbox. But this time, Custom Crops sent me a small box instead - a 8" (W) x 4" (H) x 4" (D) box. I was curious as why it is so and quickly open up the box. It is because I ordered that Tsukineko Memento Dye Reinkers - Tuxedo Black which cannot be included in a padded envelope!

Hope I get to play with these new stamp sets soon!

Today I received a refund note from Custom Crops which surprised me as I did not have any recent purchases with Custom Crops. The last order was safely arrived with 'all the items' as per my order. At first, I thought that it was a scam e-mail or what but I still open up the e-mail and read the content. Well, it seem that not 'all the items' was delivered. I had actually purchased Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares - White on my last order but Custom Crops did not ship it due to out of stock and I do not realize it until Custom Crops refund me! I am not sure at first and search for my invoice and indeed, I have purchased the Scrapbook Adhesive 3D Foam Squares - White! I do not even realize something is missing when I received my parcel! Guess during that time, I am just too happy receiving my stamp sets and forgotten about what I have ordered. Thanks Custom Crops for being so honest and refund me! I told my husband about the incident and he teased me that I been shopping online these few months and forgotten what I have actually bought. Silly me.....:O

Made this birthday card for my nephew second birthday that is on tomorrow. My brother is having a family birthday dinner for him tomorrow but my family and I could not attend. Thus, I made this card for him instead. Wish him good health!

Seize the Sketch #19

This time, I play with Seize the Sketch #19 as shown above. I rotate the sketch clockwise to fit my images and sentiment bubble.

Close-up : Flags with loose end

The flags are die cut from pattern papers and yellow card stock. Then, they are arranged and attached on a blue card base as in sketch. The flags' tails are not entirely attached to the card base as I want it to lift up a little for dimension.

Close-up : Chickadee in party hat

The chickadee is stamped on a white card stock and colored using Copic markers before adhering onto the card base as in sketch. The party hat is stamped on a scrap white card stock and colored using Copic markers before it is trimmed. Then, it is attached onto the chickadee's head using pop dots.

Close-up : Sentiment in speech bubbles

The sentiment and speech bubble are stamped on a yellow card stock and trimmed accordingly. The word 'chickadee' is stamped using 'selective inking/stamping' method. The speech bubble is later attach onto the right of the white card stock using pop dots which seem the chickadee speaking of it.

Close-up : Googly eyes 

The card is finished with two (2) googly eyes onto the chickadee which just perfect for a two (2) years old kid to play with a little!

It's Never Too Late to Change Your View tag

Made this mini tag for the colleague whom I made this card earlier. As that card is meant for 'From All of Us', I made a mini tag to tag along with my farewell gift to her. Actually, she is going to leave end of the month due to 'organization restructure'. However, she managed to find a job in another subsidiary company. Thus, she decided to stay with the company but in different subsidiary and location and let go of the 'quite good' compensation.

CAS(E) This Sketch #69

The tag is so tiny that I almost out of idea how to decorate it. Luckily, CAS(E) This Sketch #69 has a very simple sketch that fit for the mini tag.

It is so easy and simple that I only need to stamp thrice! Firstly, I stamp the first glasses at the top of the tag, just below the hole. Then, the sentiment is stamped. I just like this sentiment so much because it is just so fit to this colleague's situation. Finally, the second glasses is stamped at the bottom of the sentiment. Exactly as in the sketch!

As final touch and to add a bit of dimension, two (2) yellow gems are added to both of the glasses frames. Then, a pink twine is secured to the tag.
